Solar & Battery
What you're buying
A system is panels on your roof, the inverters that turn their power into the power your home uses, and, if you choose one, a home battery. One of two systems, sized to your home and your electric bill, named in a written estimate before anything is ordered.
Battery backup, plainly
A home battery stores power and runs the circuits you choose when the grid goes down. Which circuits it carries is set in the written estimate, before anything is ordered.
Power after the storm. Solar panels and a home battery, designed for South Florida wind and sized to the home, installed under one contract with a licensed local general contractor of record.
Power after the storm is what the battery is for. When the grid goes down, a home with a battery keeps the essentials running. Panels on their own make power in daylight; they do not keep the lights on in an outage, and we say so before you decide.
A battery can go in with a new solar system, be added to panels you already have, or be installed on its own.
Every figure we give you is an estimate until the design is done. The size of the system, what it makes and what it costs are worked out for your roof and your electric bill, in writing, before anything is ordered. We do not post prices on this page.
In Miami-Dade County the panels, rails and mounts must carry a current Miami-Dade product approval (NOA), and each job needs a wind-load analysis stamped by a Florida-licensed engineer. We prepare that package and pull the building permit as the general contractor of record.
The electrical work, meaning the wiring, the inverters, the battery and the connection to the power company, is done and permitted by a licensed electrical contractor under a written agreement with Nassar. The roof mounting, the structure and the building permit are ours. After the install the power company inspects and approves the connection before the system is switched on; that takes a few weeks and we keep you posted.
- Two systems and four named brands, nothing else to sort through
- The building permit held by the general contractor of record
- The electrical work done by a licensed electrical contractor
- A written estimate before anything is ordered
Two systems
We offer two systems, so the choice is a plain one.
Standard
Qcells Q.TRON panels with Enphase IQ8 microinverters, and the Enphase IQ Battery 5P when you want storage.
Premium
REC Alpha Pure-RX panels with the Tesla Powerwall 3 battery.
Which one for which home
Standard suits most homes. Each panel has its own microinverter and works on its own, so one shaded panel does not hold back the rest.
Premium suits a home that wants one battery with its own inverter built in to carry more of the house through an outage.
Qcells, Enphase, REC and Tesla are trademarks of their owners. We name them so you know what is being installed; the team will walk you through both systems for your home.
